I didn't carry the camera as much this trip, so there aren't many pictures. This is Kyoto, near the Gion district.

Noriko looking hesitant on the bridge.

I was trying to take pictures of the rice to show how much taller it is than the last time i was here, but this woman kept getting in the way...
Noriko wasn't ready for the last 2 shots. This one she was. I think she's cuter when caught slightly unprepared.
Finally, the rice by itself. The rice is much taller than the last time i was here. The water line is probably about 15-20 centimeters below the fence. This is a few blocks from Noriko's apartment.
Me in the same spot. I think Noriko was cuter.

This is in Nara, a former capital of Japan. These days deer roam freely and mingle with people.
The deer are surprisingly tame.
They don't seem to like me as much though.
Many of the little shops on this strip sold food. But the deer somehow knew to keep out. They would happily beg for food from people on the street though. Some even learned to show respect in the Japanese way by bowing in order to get fed even more.
"We know you have food. Feed us."
Noriko bought a pack of deer crackers.
Chaos ensued.
This deer wanted to eat my bag.

Todaiji is also in Nara. It is the largest wooden structure on Earth. It houses the Great Buddha of Nara.
