Yuri planted tulip bulbs last fall.

This is rabbit food. It is basically just a bag of timothy grass. See the yellow print that says「グルテンフリー」? Yeah... that means "gluten free". The silly gluten free fad is not limited to the US. It has spread to Japan... and even to pet foods.

Headed to the Consulate in Ōsaka to renew Yuri's US passport that expired a year ago.

I tried to get a picture of Yuri as the shinkansen pulled up, but she chose that exact moment to turn around and look at the train. Oh well. I got a rare face shot of Noriko on the right edge of the image.

On the shinkansen.

Not just Kit-Kat. Not just matcha Kit-Kat. But uji matcha Kit-Kat! I did not know that flavor was available. Uji matcha is special matcha, particular to Kyōto.

Yuri made these bracelets for me.

Sakura are widely respected and loved in Japan. The blooms last for about a week.

Took the kids to Tokyo Disney Sea. This is just after getting off the shinkansen after a 5 hour train ride. They were quite happy to not be on the train anymore.

Just outside the entrance to Disney Sea. I didn't take many pictures inside the park because we were more busy doing stuff than documenting it.

It was a bit rainy the day we were at the park, so we spent a fair amount of time in the Under the Sea area, since it had a roof.

Here we are with Ariel.

Gift shop stuff.

Headed down for a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea themed ride.

Midway through the day Emily had had enough. She slept for about half an hour.

I finally found Mexican food in Japan!! Unfortunately, i found it too late in the day and the place was already closed.

I was amused by the registration number on this plane.

Emily driving an old truck. She's wearing an oversized shirt because it was getting cold and that was the smallest the shop had left.

Time to head home on the shinkansen.

I had to go buy a new power adapter for my computer after the rabbit chewed the cord, thus prompting a visit to the Shinsaibashi Apple Store, the one i've been to second-most after the one in Jordan Creek.

Ready for first day of kindergarten.

The kindergarten is strict about keeping things in order. This is a chart detailing exactly where everything goes in each kids' locker.

Emily's locker is the middle one,
