Typical supper of udon.

Took the kids to Himeji Central Park. Security here is a little tight.

Here's the reason for the security. The park is a drive-through safari. This lion was just a few meters from the car.

Oh deer...

Llama, llama, llama, llama!

Those are hippos.

After the driving safari, we went into the petting zoo. First animal we found was a St. Bernard.

Emily liked the big dog.

Found a sheep.

Capybara, not only the largest rodent, but also my favorite.

Yuri riding the pony.

Emily rode the pony too.

Like most things in Japan, the park is built in the mountains. We rode a cable car from one part of the park to another.

Kids feeding a giraffe. With the fence it was just about impossible to get a good picture.

The ostrich is fed by dropping food pellets into a trough, where they roll into a bucket from which the animal takes them.

Ostrich, up close and personal. It was hard to get a focused picture because the big bird's head is rarely still. It continually moves like some kind of snake.

Nice kitty.

Took this picture from the table where we had lunch.
